Powerdrill Bloom vs. Claude Duet: Features, Pricing, and Best Use Cases (2026)

Powerdrill Bloom and Claude Duet both hand back finished work, such as a dashboard, a forecast, or a deck. They start from different places. Claude Duet is a proactive agent from Anthropic that watches your connected apps and messages you when something needs you. Powerdrill Bloom is an AI workspace for analysis, where answers come from your files, databases, and public data with sources attached.
Claude Duet is new. Anthropic opened a research preview on October 21, 2026, by waitlist, for Pro and Max subscribers in the US. Two days later, it published a detailed safety post. This comparison uses only each company's own pages: pricing, product pages, announcements, and changelogs. Prices and features were read on October 26, 2026.
The short version
| Claude Duet | Powerdrill Bloom | |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | Running the day: inbox, calendar, approvals, and business admin across your apps | Analysis of files, databases, and open data, turned into reports, charts, and slides |
| Starting price | Included with Claude Pro, $17 per month with annual billing or $20 billed monthly | Free $0.00; Pro $13.27/mo |
| How you work | Message one ongoing thread by text or voice; Duet reaches out first | Ask questions in a workspace that remembers your files |
| Recurring work | Checks connected accounts every few hours and sends a morning brief | Scheduled Agent runs that deliver a finished report |
| Key strength | Acts across 6,000+ connectors and plugins, with approvals before sensitive steps | Every number traced to the page, row, or figure behind it |
| Main weakness | Research preview on a waitlist, US Pro and Max only | Its pages do not describe an agent that reads your inbox or pays bills for you |
Both are "proactive." They mean different things.
Both products promise work that happens without you starting it each time. The difference is what triggers the work.
For Claude Duet, the trigger is your day. The product page says Duet "briefs you every morning, drafts next steps, then goes quiet until something needs you." It watches your inbox, calendar, and connected business apps. It decides what needs you and what can wait.
For Powerdrill Bloom, the trigger is a schedule you set. Its Scheduled Agent runs an analysis "against your connected data" at the time you pick. The changelog says "Every run finishes on schedule and delivers the results to your workspace, so the report is already waiting when you get there."
So Duet is proactive about your attention. Powerdrill Bloom is proactive about a recurring report. One watches the business as it happens. The other reruns the numbers on fresh data.
What Claude Duet is
Anthropic's announcement describes Claude Duet as "a new app where Claude works as a proactive agent." It says Duet "comes to you with what needs your attention" and "completes tasks you ask of it." It also "keeps working even when you step away" and "checks with you before it acts on your behalf."
The audience is named in the same post. "We built Claude Duet for professionals and small business owners with more on their plates than they can track."
The key facts come from Anthropic's announcement and product page:
- Model. The product page says "Powered by Opus 5.5."
- Where it runs. "Claude Duet is a standalone app for iOS and Android." On a computer, you open it at claude.ai.
- Its own computer. Duet "has a virtual machine with its own browser," so your laptop or phone can stay off.
- Your Claude context. It "carries over your memory, skills, and connected apps from your Claude account."
- Access. It is "a research preview on a waitlist for Claude Pro and Max subscribers in the US."
Our Claude Duet launch guide covers the announcement, the waitlist, and the first limits in more detail.
What Powerdrill Bloom is
Powerdrill Bloom is built for analysis that has to be checked. Its homepage calls it "The AI data analyst that shows its work." It adds "Every number comes back with the page, the row and the figure behind it."
The inputs are your files and data. The Free plan lists "Upload Excel, CSV, PDF, and docs" and "Search built-in open data sources." The data connectors page adds databases. Its AI SQL Chatbot can "Transform your natural language into SQL queries, run the SQL queries, and get you exactly the insights you need."
Work is organized in workspaces. The changelog says you can "upload a file once and every future chat in that workspace can use it, no re-uploading." It adds that "PDFs, slides, docs, spreadsheets, images, audio and video are parsed and indexed automatically."
Its Insight Trail feature handles checking. The changelog says it can "Track every AI insight back to its original source." It names Excel files, CSV data, PDF and Word files, and web sources.
How each one runs a task
In Claude Duet, a task starts as a message. The announcement says "Describe a task in a short message." Duet then "works out which apps to use and what steps to take in the background." You get a notification when the task is done or needs your review.
The product page shows a worked example. A café owner asks for "one page I can check every morning." Duet pulls from point of sale, Shopify, a CRM, a support inbox, payroll, and the bank. It then builds a dashboard that refreshes each morning before the brief.
Duet also handles admin. The product FAQ lists "finding unpaid invoices and drafting the reminders, preparing payroll for you to review, and getting contracts ready to send."
In Powerdrill Bloom, a task starts as a question about your data. You upload files or connect a source, then ask in natural language. The answer comes back as text, charts, and tables, with each figure linked to its source.
For specific jobs, its tool pages describe the finished output. The AI Finance Dashboard Builder builds a CFO scorecard and a drillable P&L board. It also builds a "Cash and working capital board with runway and AR/AP days." The AI Forecasting Tool produces a "Forecast chart with confidence bands and seasonality decomposition."
What each one can produce
Both products return finished files. The table shows what each one's own pages describe.
| Output | Claude Duet | Powerdrill Bloom |
|---|---|---|
| Dashboards | Built from connected business apps; can refresh daily | Built from files and exports, such as a CFO scorecard or P&L board |
| Forecasts | "creating financial or sales forecasts" | Forecasts with confidence bands and a backtest |
| Decks and docs | "a doc, sheet, or deck for your review" | Slides, Office docs, and reports on paid plans |
| Briefs | A morning brief across connected apps | Scheduled reports delivered to a workspace |
| Emails and messages | Drafted, then sent after your approval | Email or Slack alerts on some tool pages, such as competitor digests |
| Payments and admin | Invoices, payroll prep, purchases through Link | Not the focus of its pages |
For Powerdrill Bloom, the AI report generator turns a file or topic into a report. The Excel to PPT page covers slides "from any topic, Excel, CSV or PDF."
Anthropic notes a cost to bigger outputs. Its FAQ says "Larger tasks, like building a financial model or a deck, require more model turns and background work." Those turns come out of your Claude plan's limits.
Recurring work and memory
Claude Duet checks in on its own schedule. The announcement says Duet "checks your connected accounts every few hours, because checking nonstop would use up your plan's limits much faster." You can tell it what you want to hear about and how often.
Duet remembers through your Claude account. It keeps one ongoing thread, so "a quick reply and a weeklong project both start in the same place." The safety post adds that Duet "keeps your conversation history and its memory so it can carry context between tasks." You can reset that memory from the app's settings.
Powerdrill Bloom runs on the schedule you choose. The Scheduled Agent runs daily, on weekdays, weekly, or monthly. You can pause a task, run it early, or set an expiry date. The Free plan includes 1 scheduled task, and Pro includes 20.
Powerdrill Bloom remembers through workspaces. Each workspace can carry its own skills and MCP servers. The changelog says isolated knowledge spaces "keep projects separate so context never bleeds between unrelated work."
Both products support skills. Duet inherits your Claude skills. Powerdrill Bloom's Pro plan lists "Use Claude Skills to run specialized AI workflows for research, analysis, automation, and execution."
Where each one gets its information
The two products read from different places. That shapes what each one can answer well.
Claude Duet reads your working apps. Anthropic says it "can use the over 6,000 connectors and plugins in the Claude Marketplace." The announcement gives examples. It can check Intuit QuickBooks or Stripe for unpaid invoices. It can prepare payroll in Gusto and draft follow-ups from HubSpot. It can also help set up and manage a Shopify store.
That reach is what makes the morning brief possible. Duet sees new email, calendar changes, and app events as they arrive. It then decides which ones are worth a message.
Powerdrill Bloom reads your data sources. You upload spreadsheets, CSV files, PDFs, and documents, or connect a database. It also searches built-in open data sources. The Financial Market Data page is one example of that public data.
That focus is what makes traced answers possible. Each figure points back to a row in a file, a page in a PDF, or a web source. The trade-off is reach. Its pages do not describe watching your inbox for new events.
A simple rule follows. If the question is "what needs me today?", the answer lives in your apps. If the question is "what do these numbers say?", the answer lives in your data. Pick the tool that reads from the right place.
Pricing compared
Claude Duet has no separate price. It comes with a Claude plan. Powerdrill Bloom has its own plans.
| Plan level | Claude | Powerdrill Bloom |
|---|---|---|
| Free | Free plan, without Duet | Free $0.00, with 1,000 daily refreshed credits and 1 scheduled task |
| Entry with the agent | Pro, $17 per month with annual billing ($200 billed up front), or $20 billed monthly | Pro $13.27/mo |
| Higher usage | Max, from $100 per month, with 5x or 20x more usage than Pro | Plus and Premium, with more monthly credits |
| Teams | Team and Enterprise, not included in the Duet preview yet | Team Pro, with shared team credits |
Usage shapes the real cost on Claude's side. The FAQ says Duet "shares your plan's usage limits with the rest of Claude." It adds that "Its background checks count toward those limits." A busy week with Duet can leave less room for regular Claude chats.
On Powerdrill Bloom's side, the pricing page lists Pro with 1,000 daily credits plus 5,000 monthly credits. Pro adds "Create slides, Office docs, Excel analysis, and Nano Banana images" and 20 scheduled tasks. Credit packages can also be bought once, without a subscription.
Safety, approvals, and limits
Claude Duet asks before sensitive steps. The announcement lists four of them: sending a message, making a payment, signing a document, and deleting anything. Before each one, "it shows you exactly what it's about to do and waits for your approval."
Some actions stay blocked. The October 23 safety post says some actions "stay off-limits even with your approval." It names "trading securities, banking actions such as moving money between accounts, and accessing someone else's account."
Credentials stay away from the model. The safety post says "Claude Duet never sees your passwords, browser cookies, or the sign-in tokens for your connected apps." A separate classifier also checks each message for sensitive information before it goes out.
The preview has stated limits. Anthropic lists them in plain terms. Duet "may misread a thread or miscalibrate what's urgent." Personal errands "aren't quite as strong." It "can't yet show you its browser." It also lives in its own app, separate from the main Claude app.
Powerdrill Bloom keeps the agent inside your data. Its pages describe analysis of files, databases, and open data. They do not describe an agent that reads your inbox, drafts replies, or pays bills. For that kind of work, Claude Duet covers more ground.
Powerdrill Bloom's homepage says it "Runs on-premise or in your private cloud, for data that cannot leave your network." Its footer lists SOC 2 Type 2 certification.
The same task, run in both
Take one request from Anthropic's own example: a one-page business health check for a small company. This is a hypothetical walkthrough based on each product's own pages.
In Claude Duet, you would message the request once. Duet would pull figures from the point of sale, the store, the CRM, payroll, and the bank. It would build the page, refresh it each morning, and flag anything unusual in your brief. If it found late invoices, it could draft reminders for you to approve.
In Powerdrill Bloom, you would upload or connect the same exports. You would ask for the scorecard in natural language, such as revenue, cash, margin, and churn by week. It would return the charts and tables, with each figure traced to the rows behind it. You could then schedule the same analysis every Monday.
Both reach a health check. Claude Duet carries the result into action across your apps. Powerdrill Bloom keeps the focus on checking each figure and repeating the analysis.
Using them together
The two can sit side by side, each on the job its own pages describe.
- Let Claude Duet run the day. Use it for the morning brief, inbox triage, meeting moves, and approvals.
- Run the numbers in Powerdrill Bloom. Upload the monthly exports and get findings with sources.
- Schedule the report. Set a Scheduled Agent to refresh the analysis each week or month.
- Share the checked figures. Bring the key numbers into the deck or update that Duet prepares.
- Review before anything is sent. Check two or three figures against the source files first.
The handoff stays small: a short list of checked figures and a chart or two. Keep confidential exports in the tool your company approves for them.
Start with one recurring job, such as the monthly sales review. Run it both ways for two cycles. Then compare the time spent, the number of corrections, and how easy each figure was to check. That small trial tells you more than any feature list.
Who each one suits
Claude Duet suits people who run many moving parts at once.
- Small business owners who juggle invoices, payroll, hiring, and customers.
- Professionals who want a morning brief across email and calendar.
- People who already pay for Claude Pro or Max in the US.
- Teams that are comfortable with an early research preview.
Powerdrill Bloom suits teams whose work starts from data.
- Analysts who need each number traced to a source.
- Finance teams that want a monthly report or dashboard to rerun on a schedule.
- Managers who need a report, forecast, or deck from spreadsheets and PDFs.
- Companies whose data must stay on-premise or in a private cloud.
Some teams will want both. An owner might let Duet handle the inbox and approvals, then check the month's numbers in Powerdrill Bloom. A finance lead might do the reverse: build the report first, then let Duet send it after review.
Want to compare them on your own data? Try Powerdrill Bloom with the same export you would hand to Duet.
Frequently asked questions
What is Claude Duet?
Claude Duet is an app from Anthropic where Claude works as a proactive agent. It sends a morning brief, takes tasks by message, and works on its own cloud computer. It asks for approval before it sends, pays, signs, or deletes anything. A research preview opened on October 21, 2026.
How much does Claude Duet cost?
Claude Duet has no separate price during the research preview. It comes with Claude Pro, listed at $17 per month with annual billing or $20 billed monthly. It also comes with Max, from $100 per month. It shares your plan's usage limits with the rest of Claude.
Can Claude Duet build dashboards and forecasts?
Yes. Anthropic says Duet can take on tasks such as building dashboards and creating financial or sales forecasts. It returns the work for your review. Larger tasks, like a financial model or a deck, use more of your plan's limits.
Does Powerdrill Bloom work like an autonomous agent?
Powerdrill Bloom runs recurring analysis on its own through the Scheduled Agent, which delivers a finished report to your workspace. Its pages do not describe an agent that reads your inbox or drafts replies for you. It focuses on analysis of files, databases, and open data.
What is the difference between Claude Duet and Powerdrill Bloom?
Claude Duet is a general agent that watches your apps, briefs you, and acts on your behalf after approval. Powerdrill Bloom is an AI workspace for analysis of your data, where every number is traced to its source.
